Cards and drinks go well hand-in-hand, especially with a bunch of friends. There are so many games that include the two together. The spoons drinking game is one of them.

✦ If you win the game first, try scattering all the spoons on the ground. It will be more fun to watch the other players search for the spoons under their chairs. But, they’re not supposed to spill the drink because that will be a foul! (wink!)
✦ If you get the same four cards first, try taking the spoon very secretively. The other players will be so busy in passing and matching that they will miss it.
The spoons drinking game is a fast game which makes drinking even more fun. This game basically depends on your presence of mind, luck, and speed. Just gather all your friends, your favorite drinks, cards, and some spoons. Now, sit in a circle. Bring one spoon less than the number of players, which means if you have 5 players get only 4 spoons. Now, keep all the spoons on the table in front of everyone. Move on to the best part, which is getting drinks for every player. Let’s move on to the step-by-step instructions to play this game.
Instructions to Play
✦ Firstly, you need to remove some of the numbers from the deck. If the players are 6, you should pull out all the four Aces, Kings, Queens, Jacks, 10s, and 9s. The number of suits is equal to the number of players. So, if you’re 5 people then you can skip the 9s and if you’re 7 people, you can add the 8s. If there are a total of 12 players, then use the whole deck.
✦ Shuffle all the removed cards and then distribute 4 cards to each player.
✦ Each player picks up their set and the dealer will call “Pass!”. When it’s called, each player must take one card from their set and pass. The dealer will decide if you have to pass to your left or right. If it’s not specified, pass it to your left. Keep your ears open because the dealer has the power to change directions suddenly.
✦ Whichever card is useful to you, keep it and pass on the others. Just remember your aim to get all the four cards.
✦ It is best when the dealer calls “Pass” every 3-4 seconds because no one gets the time to see if they really need the card or not. The passing will go on until one of the players gets four-of-a-kind.
✦ When a player gets the four-of-a-kind, he has to put down all the cards and immediately grab a spoon. The other players have to be attentive and grab the other spoons, even if they haven’t finished the game.
✦ There is one spoon less, so naturally there will be a person without a spoon. He is the loser. The punishment is drinking (the amount has to be decided by the other players).
Rules for Playing
✦ The number of drinks has to be decided prior to starting the game. There is an option that the loser has to drink the value of the cards that the winner had. E.g.: If the winner had got all 10s, then the loser has to have 10 drinks. Sometimes just a hard shot can do the trick! So, it’s all up to you!
✦ If two players go for one spoon, then the person who holds the larger area wins.
✦ There can be penalty drinks for players who have had more than 4 cards in their hand, at any point in the game. This means that they have been eyeing on the spoons and not passing!
